My Assignment

Assalamualaikum wr wb
Good night everyone this is my post for my assignment about The effect of telling lies to ourselves. I dunno what should I say. Im sorry for my mistakes. Because I still to learn.

The Effect of Telling Lies

Telling lies is a negative behavior that can be done by anyone in order to cover up the truth so that the situation remains stable and there are no problems.  There are several reasons that make someone lie. The main reason is to break away from guilt for what was actually done or protect yourself from getting into trouble.  The second reason is that people will lie if they are under pressure. Telling lies can cause real mistakes, happen to other people who are completely innocent and may not know what really happened. Then, lying has a psychological effect on the person who is lying, they will be nervous because of their mistakes and tend to make decisions in a hurry.

Everyone must have lied and lied.  If we are lied to, of course we can know how difficult it is to trust that person again.  And if a person is lying, after making a lie the usually have to lie again to cover up the previous lies and continue to do so.  After lying there may be relief because there is something that is covered or something that others should not know. But it will not last long, gradually it will make them haunted by guilt in the future and can make mental worse.  According to Steven H. Stated that "a lie grows, it never stands alone, they need a lot of lies to cover up the lies before. So if you don't admit right away, it grows like cancer, it can't be stopped but continues to spread and causes death."  This means that, if we continue to cover up lies with other lies, it can become a mental illness for us. There will be anxiety, and guilt that is very deep as long as you don't admit it. We will be able to detect someone or ourselves if do a lie.  If we have been talking to someone for more than 10 minutes, maybe, that one of us has lied , both to ourselves or the person we are talking to. We can stop lying if we can refrain from lying whenever we want to lie, and can also stop doing negative activities that can trigger us to lie.  As far as we know telling lies will always affect the people around us, it can even hurt or cause them having problems.

There are several impacts if someone is lying.  First, people will not easily believe us. People who have lied to parents or anyone.  It will be hard to get more trust from their parents or anyone who is being lied to. People who are lied to will be careful, even though we have been telling the truth.  So, do not ever try to lie. Second, it causes us to betray others. Whatever the reason, under any circumstances a person who lies will be found out one day. Lying may make us free from a situation for a while but in the end we will be found out.  If we always tell the truth. We will always be liked and trusted. Be honest! even though it is difficult, but it's better than we lies that in the end we will lose the people we love like friends, family and others. The lost faith will not return in any way. Third, telling lies causes guilt. We certainly agree that lying can have a bad effect. We can hurt people around us, and make us feel bad, miserable and feel guilty as long as we haven't told the truth. We will also become depressed. According to Gunderman stated that "Guilt will make people worry about the consequences of their actions if the person being deceived knows the truth".  This guilt gradually becomes depressed or stressed.

Then, lying can be a reflexive action.  According to Lloyd stated that "some people start lying and try to make sure they do not do anything.  And if you keep lying it will become a habit for them. Last but not least, lying can increase the sense of selfishness.  People who lie for personal gain can make people forget the rules that govern their behavior. According to Shu and Gino (2012) people who lie sometimes forget the rules, in addition liars will present themselves as people who have good performance by making other people affected by the problems they do.  People who lie for personal gain will not last long, at first they will feel happy because it can cover a situation but will also be found out in the end. According to Rudy, Moore, Gino and Schweitzer (2013) people may experience extraordinary pleasure when they feel they have escaped a trick.

In summary, the effect of lying is not as simple as it looks.  Maybe telling lies will make us feel free from accusations or problems.  But besides that we also create problems both for others and even for ourselves.  We will destroy people's trust in us, make us betray them, cause guilt and depression, and make us a figure of selfishness. In addition, Lying also has a good effect if we are in a state of urgency and for the good.  But whatever the reason is lying is still not good behavior to do because it can also destroy a trust and a relation. Be honest fellas wherever your!.
