How We Maintain Our Mental Health When Social Distancing at Home
Social distancing for a long time can affect our mental healths. The government urges people to conduct social distancing in order to break the transmission of the COVID-19 or corona virus, but limiting interactions in a relatively long time,doing activities at home that can be affects to our mental healths.
Then, what we can feel during this social distancing? In my opinion, there are various reactions that are common when we doing social distancing. For example: anxiety, worry, and frustration often arise when we faced with a situation full of uncertainty. Other reactions that often occur are anger, boredom, and loneliness. In addition, we can also concerns about being able to care for families, both children and parents well or doing our hobbies.
Next, what we can do to maintain our mental health for this case? Based on what I feel , We can do by staying connected with other people such as family, friends, and relatives through telephone connections, chat , and video calls and social media. I think its can be more efective to stay safe at home. Other ways that we can do are develop or to practice the skills we want to master and develop a hobby. For example learning how to garden, make cakes, and others.
As the result, the important step is to educate ourselves with clear information. It also avoids exposure to information from untrusted sources. While those who work from home can start by preparing an activity plan in accordance with work performance. Meanwhile, to overcome anxiety, the initial step that needed to be done was to acknowledge the uncertainty that arises in themselves. Then try to relax by taking a deep breath and exhale.
